Our Programs

Many in Flagstaff have a tough time making ends meet. That’s why our food box program is so important in helping families stretch their monthly food budgets.

Our volunteers help serve sack lunches daily from our to-go window. Some of our clients pick one up on their way to work or save it for later.

Dinners are prepared daily by staff and volunteers to provide a variety of healthy foods to anyone who needs a hot meal. Served in our warm dining room, or meals can be taken to-go.

We had a great time at the Good Food Forum in Prescott last week! Our team had the opportunity to connect with people and organizations from across Arizona who are working to strengthen our local and regional food systems.

The Forum offered a space to share ideas, learn from one another, and explore the partnerships and strategies helping build a stronger, more connected food system. We also had the opportunity to tour The Eatery, learning more about their work and approach to supporting local food in the Prescott community.

Grateful for the conversations, new connections, and all the people doing this work across Arizona. We’re excited to bring what we learned back to Northern Arizona and keep building on these partnerships!

We've been keeping a secret... And since we're revealing it so late, we've extended registration to THIS Sunday, 8/31.

We’re thrilled to announce our second guest speakers for the 2026 Northern Arizona Anti-Hunger Summit: Dr. Jessica Knurick and Dr. Jessie Gruner!

Dr. Jessica Knurick is a registered dietitian and a science communicator with a PhD in nutrition science, specializing in chronic disease prevention. She educates on nutrition science, food and nutrition policy, and how these forces shape public health.

Known for her clear, evidence-based communication, Dr. Jessica helps people navigate nutrition information with a critical eye, breaking down complex topics and addressing common misconceptions. As a science communicator, she is passionate about making science accessible, practical, and grounded in real-world impact.

Dr. Jessie Gruner is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over a decade of experience working in public health sectors including social services, research, and advocacy. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she is a policy enthusiast and is passionate about ensuring public policy is rooted in community voices and needs.

Together, Dr. Knurick and Dr. Gruner will take attendees from the national policy landscape to what it means here at home—providing an overview of federal and Arizona food policy, the forces shaping food access and public health, and the opportunities ahead. Their conversation will help us understand where we are now so we can better envision where we go from here, together.

Join us on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Flagstaff, Arizona, as we bring together community members, nonprofit leaders, Tribal partners, healthcare professionals, government officials, educators, and advocates to strengthen food access across Northern Arizona.

What a great way to wrap up our Community Cooking Class Series! 🍳

This past class, Chef Laura Chamberlin of @culinaryconceptssouthwest led a lesson on elevating simple ingredients with seasonal produce — making a delicious summer salad and pasta for us!

A huge thank you to our participants, instructors, and community partners who brought their energy and curiosity to this series. We hope you enjoyed it and we look forward to more nutrition and cooking classes to come.
